You often hear this word but what does it mean? Wikipedia defines as: the identity of a specific product, service, or business.  A brand can take many forms, including a name, sign, symbol, color combination or slogan.

​So... what does this have to do with you?

The word brand has continued to evolve to encompass identity - it affects the personality of a product, company or service.  Businesses brand themselves by using one logo, the same colors, your business tag line, etc.. on all business correspondence and marketing materials.  Being consistent when you develop your businesses marketing materials is a way for you to identify or brand your business.  You must stay consistent when it comes to branding your business or people can get confused.  

If you must change your company name, logo, etc... make a big deal out of it so that everyone you do business with is aware of the upcoming change.  Have a "Grand Re-Opening", Send Out Flyers or Postcards to all your contacts, make it your HOT Topic in your e-newsletter but whatever you do make it known and the timeline that this is going to happen.
